Conference to open the project “Rzeszów and Stropkov – cooperation for borderland culture”

On 22 June 2017 Hotel Prezydencki hosted a conference opening the project “Rzeszów and Stropkov – cooperation for borderland culture,” implemented as part of the Poland–Slovakia European Territorial Cooperation Programme for the years 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (EFFR).

The conference was organised by the project leader. The guests were welcomed by Mr Stanisław Sienko, Deputy Mayor of the City of Rzeszów. The project leader was represented also by Ms Aneta Radaczyńska, Director of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Department of the Municipal Office of Rzeszów, along with the members of the project team and the staff of the Fund Acquisition Department. The project partner – the City of Stropkov – was represented by Mr Ondrej Brendza, Mayor of the City of Stropkov, members of the partner’s project team and numerous representatives of the local cultural and educational institutions, and historical associations.

The conference presented the main project specifications (objectives and expected results) and outlined the histories of the partners cities – Rzeszów and Stropkov – in the age of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a running theme for the project. The second part of the conference was devoted to the use of historical heritage in urban tourism.
The opening conference provided the participants with an opportunity to exchange their views and experiences with respect to the issues being discussed. The project managers, in their turn, could determine the details of their cooperation to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the project.
